The Benaki Toy Museum

One of the best forest walking trails in Athens.
It’s around a 20 minute bus ride from the centre but once there you feel hours away from the mayhem of the city. Panoramic views, monasteries and plenty of hiking paths make this a terrific family day out.

Marathonas “magic lake”
The lake and dam of Marathon was built in the 1930’s to supply Athens with decent drinking water. Today it attracts many visitors due to its stunning natural beauty. Definitely worth a visit.

Attiki Zoological Parko
Set in almost 50 acres, Spata zoo is a full day out.  Lots of animals, space, and educational sessions make this zoo an enjoyable experience. Be sure to feed to the Giraffes and watch the Dolphin show.

Turtle Rescue Center
A hospital and rehab facility for injured turtles.
It’s run by volunteers and entrance fee is a donation. Very educational and the dedicated volunteers all speak English and will gladly show you around and talk about the work they do there.

National Gardens, Athens
Located in the centre, National gardens is a 38 acre public park, and an oasis in the city. Open from sunrise to sunset, there is a small zoo, a large duck pond, play park and plenty of nature watching.

BEACH FUN

Yabanaki
There are plenty of beaches for kids in Athens, but Yabanaki is the most fun! Very family centric with plenty of facilities, it is also a great place for older kids. Featuring bouncy castles, banana rides, water ski, playground and more, plus bars and cafes, it’s a day out for the whole family.
